Who this is for

Backpackers, students, families and anyone on a tight budget who still wants to understand what they are looking at. If your plan is to walk the city instead of paying for tours, Trevurs gives you the story and the route. You bring the comfortable shoes.

What it saves you

Seeing a city with context usually costs something: paid guided tours charge per person, free walking tours run on tips (see the comparison), and many monuments rent their own audio guide. With Trevurs the narration is in the app, so the only cost of a tour is the walk.

What it costs

Trevurs is a free app for iOS and Android. There is also an optional Premium version, from USD 1.99, with unlimited offline downloads, access to every tour and no ads. It also helps keep an independent app alive.

What Trevurs does not include

  • Entry tickets. If a stop is a museum, church or monument you want to enter, the ticket (if there is one) is separate. Trevurs does not sell tickets; check the official website of each place.
  • Transport. 43 tours have routes longer than 12 km. Split them over several days or use public transport between some stops; that ticket is on you.
  • A person to answer questions. The audio is recorded; nobody can answer you on the spot.
  • Battery and headphones. A long tour uses your phone for hours. Bring headphones and, if you can, a power bank.
